terms of service.

last reviewed 2026-05. short on purpose.

001 — what you can do here. you can subscribe to a tier, invite readers (who sign their own consent), add listeners, pick books from the library or upload your own (Family), and play stories on your devices for the people in your household.

002 — what we will not do. clone the voice of anyone who has not personally signed consent. read anything that isn’t a book. expose any user’s data to advertising, ad networks, training datasets, or anyone outside our short list of subprocessors. send you any notifications other than billing or consent emails.

003 — what you cannot do. attempt to clone someone’s voice without their consent (the architecture blocks this; please don’t try). upload someone else’s copyrighted book and try to share it. use the service to impersonate a person to anyone outside the household. attempt to extract or share any generated audio to a third party. these are grounds for permanent removal and, depending on the abuse, referral to the relevant authority.

004 — billing. monthly or annual, cancel anytime via stripe’s customer portal. memorial tier is priced lower than the others; refunds on request, no questions.

005 — memorial readers (deceased). when you create a memorial reader, you attest that the voice recording you intend to use is yours to use — a voicemail you received, a video you appear in, a recording the deceased made of themselves, or equivalent. you accept that the responsibility for the legality of that use is yours, not ours. we do not require documents up front, but we reserve the right to ask for them if a request is contested or flagged in review, and to terminate the memorial reader at any time if the attestation turns out to be false. by submitting the memorial intake form you are entering into this attestation.

006 — liability. this service is provided as-is. we take exceptional care with consent and watermarking but cannot guarantee anything against a sufficiently motivated bad actor. our maximum liability is the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months.

007 — changes. when we change these terms, we email account holders. material changes come with a 30-day notice.
